Thanks for such lovely comments. Wh...Dear Shashi,

Thanks for such lovely comments. What I have written is what I experienced in my village in Rajasthan in the first 5 years of my life. Memories of that period are so strongly imprinted on my mind that I can visualise the entire village. I have visited the village later also, and every visit kept the memories alive.

Except the swimming experience of my own, which is based on what I used to watch while other boys of young age used to do, rest is all my own experience.

In todays world when we think of that life, it looks as if we are reading a fairy tail.I can write these things because I relate to them.

Keep on reading me and writing your lovely commentary.

MaahendraMahendra Aryanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-570573753792296226.post-83640945979278337062010-10-19T13:39:27.249+05:302010-10-19T13:39:27.249+05:30Dear Mahendra,
Very refreshing one.
Very origi...Dear Mahendra,

Very refreshing one.

Very original and imaginative, though we never lived or studied on any village but that is what we normally see all around in small children of poor people.

Whenever I used to see small kids jump into a river or pond and swim playfully, (Because I did not know swimming) I used to wonder as to who might have taught them swimming? I could not learn swimming until 55 years because most of the time I did not get a chance and once when I opened this opportunity for my children in Coimbatore, I could not learn because the trainer was never inside the pool. This made me wonder all the more as to who taught thesechildren swimming?

Then your description about the Temple. Just last night while retiring on my bed for night, I suddenly remembered that at the age of 8years I used to put on a Dhoti and used to beg of my mom to spare one rupee for Archana in Baikunthnath mandir (Beside Mimani House) because one could not enter the Sanctum Sanctorium without a dhoti and when you uttered your Name and Gotra to the Priest he used to give some flowers and 2 Besan laddus in a dona. Actually it was mainly those Laddus which attracted me and I used to take so much of pains for them. In your poem I could see myself in the same pose as your Village Kids. Very absorbing.

Grrrrrrrrrrrreat!!
